2017  Act 1  ENCHANTMENT

Download here the libretto.

Amoresmeus was released in 2016 and had an EP recording in 2017.

This Act 1 speaks of passionate love, intense passion and romance.

The guest is the gaúcha (born at RS/Brazil) pianist Dunia Elias who, along with André López, arranged the seven songs:

"Basta um Dia" from the opera Gota D'água by Chico Buarque, interpreted on stage by Bibi Ferreira and recorded by Clara Nunes.

"Estrada do Sol", an emblematic song by Tom Jobim with lyrics by Dolores Duran.

Also, the tense aria "Canción Del Fuego Fatuo" from the work "El Amor Brujo" by Manuel de Falla, an aria originally for mezzo-soprano, here rearranged for tenor voice.

André López's "Malino" brings a non-political discourse and a deranged character inspired by Chico Buarque's old theatrical songs. "I'm a Fool to Want You", a classic by Frank Sinatra from the '50s, supposedly dedicated to his lover, Ava Gardner.

From Ruy Mauriti, César Costa Filho, and Ronaldo Monteiro, the beautiful "Visão Geral", composed for the Festival da Canção Brasileira and later recorded by Clara Nunes on her second album.

All the songs had long been part of the authors' imagination, a part of their lives.

It was the beginning, the shaping, and the foundation of the "music in progress" Amoresmeus.
